Promoting the Health of a Diverse Society

The faculty of Counseling and Counseling Psychology focuses on the education of counselors and psychologists to become culturally competent to work with a diverse clientele in a variety of mental health settings. We highlight the use of research to inform our knowledge base and our training to prevent or treat psychological problems and to promote the health of individuals, families, groups, and organizations in a multicultural and diverse society.

New students begin the program in fall semesters only. All application materials must be submitted between September 1 and December 15 (for the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program) or January 15 (for the Master of Counseling program) in order to ensure consideration for admission the following fall semester.

For information on individual programs, please see the Student Resources tab below, select the resources for the program you are interested in, and select the program guide or handbook. Please email for questions not addressed in the handbook, or contact individual faculty members. Due to the large number of applicants, please be patient with faculty inquiries. Faculty members do welcome your questions and will respond as time permits.

Applicants please note, ONE (1) official transcript is required as part of the application process. The official transcript is to be sent directly to the ASU Graduate Education. A separate transcript is not needed for the program. For Graduate Education contact or address see:
